Ninkasi Brewing Announces Release of Canned Cocktails

Ninkasi Brewing of Eugene and renowned Portland mixologist Jeffrey Morgenthaler have teamed up on a line of canned cocktails being released throughout Oregon and the West.

Ninkasi co-founders Nikos Ridge and Jamie Floyd tapped Morgenthaler, known in Portland for creating the bar programs at the now-closed Clyde Common restaurant and Pepe Le Moko bar, to create the cocktails.

The line will include three initial cocktails using “real spirits and ingredients,” Morgenthaler said:

  • Bourbon Renewal, a reimagined version of Morgenthaler’s bourbon classic at Clyde Common that features whiskey, lemon and blackcurrant liqueur.

  • Gin Rickey, a fizzy, citrus-leaning gin highball with lime and mint.

  • Agave Paloma, a mezcal-based cocktail with citrus soda made with grapefruit, grapefruit peel and a hint of jalapeño.
